WHY SAGUARO? The first challenge I tried to addressed is Measuring Social capital and Empowerment produced by a female association in Milano. Now, as a consultant I am focusing on measuring process efficency and User Experience smoothnes but I am still trying to show the value of what is undervalued, has invisible root system, grow slowly and it is a long term survivor. Exactly like saguaro.
The saguaro [pronounced sah-WAH-ro] is a cactus that grows in the Sonoran desert in the Southwestern United States. As Harvard Kennedy School says there are rich parallels between the Saguaro, Social Capital and empowerment. As women, Saguaros were for some time undervalued by society. Saguaros are bellwether indicators of the health of the ecosystem. Saguaros have an invisible root system that is multiples of the visible height of the cacti. And like most Social Capital and Women Empowerment, Saguaros grow slowly (husbanding what nourishment the ecosystem provides) and are tough, long-term survivors.
As SAGUARO, this website is growing slowly, husbanding the short spare time provieded by my full consultant life , if you want more insights please
